| | the smiths - the boy with the thorn in his side | ] | "Sunrise, Sunset"
Embers glow bright as the midday sun Full of passion, Full of life. Silent and Pristine it stands Reflecting the excitement it is currently concealing. A symbolic mirror to a magical world. The artificial sunset descends Slowly, methodically Orchestrated by those magicians in the back So powerful they can turn the stars out on a whim. The blackness falls but unlike its counterpart So cold and bitter and empty, It is warm, almost tremoring, burning with an excited fever Oh! The excitement The suspense – Hearts race full of terror They beat, pulse at an exhilarating Rate Full of life, full of passion The red floats, exposing its heart The music flows, floats, flies Heavenly and celestial. Reality in all its “glory” Fades away into nothingness Until we are in Neverland Until we fly away to Anywhere Free, the shackles crack and fall Down, down as we ascend As we approach Among the clouds, Among the stars, Among the heavens, As we approach true and uninhibited freedom The cursed sun appears and we are “home”. |
